Small Planet Project: Costa Rica - ecology of a changing world |
We will arrive in the Guanacaste Peninsula, on the scenic Pacific coast. Our home will be the Visions and Dreams La Vida del Corazon ranch where we will meet the Costa Rican youth who will participate in the project alongside us. Each day will consist in a combination of language immersion, human rights dialogues, team building excursions and community service projects around specific themes chosen by the participants. There will be daily horse back excursions across the mountains of Guanacaste, as well as, longer trips to local farms, ecological sights, the town of Carmona, and the pristine beach of Playa Carillo. The Costa Rican staff will prepare daily family style meals and there will be ample time to build friendships and enjoy the bounty of Costa Rica's natural splendor. At the end of our program there will be a celebration at the local community center open to the entire community where our community service projects will be unveiled and our exploration of human rights issues is shared.
