Language Immersion

The best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in the culture. Learn Spanish by communicating with native language speakers in an environment supportive of cultural exchange. All participants in our programs live in a bilingual setting with a diverse group of peers and adults. Language learning is integrated into all parts of the day. Meals, games, sports, music, horseback riding, excursions, service projects and exploring the richness of the natural environment are all ways to develop language skills and vocabulary. Language classes are given daily by experienced and credentialed educators. *High School Credit may be available.

communnity service

Building a park, planting a community garden, creating an ecology survey, or painting a schoolhouse are all ways young people can get involved with their host community and learn the benefit of service. Through helping others participants will build self-esteem and get to know local community members. Programs will include a series of community service opportunities for participants to choose from. Service project will be relevant to the applicable program (Human Rights: Small Planet Project, or Ecology in a Changing World). Working in partnership participants will be given an opportunity to practice their language skills and make a lasting contribution to the lives of others.

personal development

All programs focus on building character. Gain confidence through communicating in a new language, learn to be a team player through cooperating on a service project, and be a leader as you bring your experiences back home and share them with others. Personal growth is different for everyone, but every program offers participants the opportunity to turn a weakness into a strength.
